Airplane cabins are infamous for having particularly dry air. On all modern aircrafts, passengers and crew breathe a mixture of fresh and recirculated air. Add on the fact that many people drink sugary beverages such as soda, juice and wine on airplanes, you’re on a one-way flight to dehydration.

Dehydration can take effect in various forms from muscle cramps, respiratory conditions and of course, dry skin, eyes and nostrils. So the next time you’re on a mid- to long-haul flight, follow these steps for better hydration:

# 1 - Pack a travel-sized moisturizer in your carry-on, and apply to your face while you take your in-flight nap.

Looking for a quick fix? Why not try the Novexpert Repulp Mask that re-plumps, rehydrates and regenerates deeply to soothe, restore, repair and repulp your skin. Simply leave this hypoallergenic mask on your clean face for 10-15 minutes and and wipe off with a wet wipe, dampened tissue or cotton pad — instant rehydrated skin! Best of all, this mask comes in a 50ml tube, so you won’t be busting the airlines’ liquid carry-on requirements.

# 2 - Hydrate from within before and during the flight

It may be tempting to drink up the free wine and sodas on the flight, but as much as possible, avoid sugary, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks when flying to prevent dehydration. If you are someone who gets dehydrated easily, remember that hydrating yourself starts before you even check-in at the airport.

Drink lots of water in the days leading up to your flight, which include nutrient-packed fruit and vegetable juices. Some examples of hydrating drinks include cucumber and coconut water, and while in the cabin, stick to just plain aqua.

# 3 - Apply lotion to your hands and body.

Washing and wiping your hands can cause dry palms and parched cuticles. Hypoallergenic Marine Elements Body Lotion will help soften the skin’s surface, allowing moisture and nutrients to penetrate deep down. With the patented Zonase X™ active ingredient which contains natural proteins and enzymes, your skin’s moisture will be replenished, reducing any negative effects such as inflammation or itchiness.

Marine Elements is great for anyone with eczema and dry skin.

If the 200ml bottle is too large for you to pack onto carry on, consider filling travel-sized cosmetic bottles (available at any pharmacy) so you can bring your lotion onboard.

Final stocks for Marine Elements available for purchase now, while stocks last.

# 4 - See no dryness, smell no dryness.

Besides moisturising your skin, other parts of your face such as eyes and nostrils may feel dry and chapped. For this, bring along some eye drops and a nasal spray and apply when you feel necessary.

# 5 - Refresh your breath before you land!

Dry mouth is a common cause of bad breath, and perhaps you don’t want to meet your family picking you up at the airport with dry, stale overnight breath!

Why not get yourself a travel toothbrush so you can have a quick freshen up before you land? Don’t worry, the water in the airplane lavatory is safe to rinse your mouth with, or perhaps you could use a sink at an airport restroom while waiting for your luggage. Why not invest in a Swissdent Emergency Kit (in Red for Extreme Whitening, and Blue or Silver for those with more Sensitive teeth)? Includes a patented award-winning toothbrush and toothpaste with fruit enzymes in a handy travel pack.

Your loved ones will be able to spot your pearly-white smile from across the room as you walk into the arrival hall! And if brushing your teeth sounds like too much work, just a few spritz of the mouth spray and you’re good to go!

The Wrinkly Bad News
Wrinkles are developed as part of aging and as we already know, aging is a natural process we cannot avoid. As we age, our skin becomes thinner, drier and its elasticity becomes lesser, folds, creases or ridges starts appearing on the surface on our skin.

Why Is This Happening?
A part from it being a natural aging process, our genetic distribution (skin structure & texture) and our lifestyles can quicken or delay the development of wrinkles. The most prominent cause of wrinkles is frequent sun exposure. Constant exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays can damage the skin's support structure *beach bums alert* Additionally, if you constantly smile, frown, squint, and wink a lot, wrinkles around the eye area such as crow's feet and frown lines will occur over a period of time. So, are your wrinkles a result of happy memories or sad ones?

Avoid smoking at all cause because smoking accelerates aging and wrinkles appear deeper in smokers. Evidently, smokers do look older beyond what they actually are.

The Wrinkly Good News
Preventing wrinkles are now made accessible with the advances anti-aging technologies and prevention methods like consuming at least 5 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables can help to slow down aging process. Vitamins and nutricosmetic supplements like Mireica can improve and protect your skin stem cells.

Which Are You?

Facial mask? What is that for? Is that really necessary?

Oh, I know what facial masks are for but I don't see the point of using it

Yes, I visit the spa every once in a while for treatment.

Yes, I fix up my own mask at home and use it some times.

If you're - Facial mask? What is that for? Is that really necessary?
The main purpose of a facial mask is to provide nourishment for your skin. When facial mask is applied onto your face, it allows the essential nutrients to be absorbed into the skin. Apart from providing nutrients, it cleanses, moistures and soothes your skin as it contains vitamins and minerals.

It is indeed a necessary process! Your skin is the largest organ in the body and it obviously needs the essential nutrients, especially the skin on our faces! As we age, our skin would eventually get thinner due to a loss of collagen and elasticity. Thus, facial mask are developed in mind to help reverse the order of aging and to give your skin the boost it needs.

If you're - Oh, I know what facial masks are for but I don't see the point of using it.
Take our advice, use them. Your regular cleansing routine will help you wash the dirt and grime away but only on the surface. Facial masks are made to penetrate deeply, as deep as your hypodermis to draw out its impurities. Additionally, it helps to unclog pores so your products work more effectively. Some facial mask helps to stimulate blood circulation and will make your skin looks smoother and brighter.

If you're - Yes, I visit the spa every once in a while for treatment.
Though visiting the spa may seem like a good idea to pamper you (and your skin), we would like to advice you to be (very) careful with the products your beautician use on your skin. Some products, though seem effective) may give you more harm than good, especially products loaded with chemicals and preservatives. According to research, chemicals are absorbed into your skin, into the blood and urine, which can cause damage to your health. Apart from the chemicals, some products can cause harsh reactions (ie: rash, redden effect, heated up).

Hence, be alert and get your beautician to explain to you the ingredients of the product rather than sell the product based on the outcome. Some beauticians are taught to sell rather than care. Most importantly, know your skin type and get familiar with your allergies so that you can identify what works and what will never work for your skin. (See Perfect Remedy Below)

If you're - Yes, I fix up my own mask at home and use it some times (when I find the time).
We applaud you for opting for natural remedies. Yogurt, honey, lemon, oatmeal, sugar, coffee, pumpkin, avocado, aloe vera, berries or bananas are really good for skin. As much as we would agree that DIY mask are filled with skin food nutrients, these DIY ingredients can be expensive and too yummy to be thrown away after applying on your face, and not to mention, time consuming.

We suggest that you eat them instead for overall skin health and because we have a perfect remedy for you.

NOVEXPERT
French for new expert, has hit the shores of Malaysia, Formulated to target the visible signs of aging skin, the Novexpert "Doctor Line" helps to retain and refresh your youthful veneer.

The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Novexpert, Cyrille Telinge was in Malaysia recently to explain the philosophy and to present this new generation of anti-aging skincare that is targeted at the modern techno-parano consumer who is afraid of chemicals yet wants medical quality and effective products that are also safe, natural and affordable to use over the long term.

The 100% natural, green chemistry brand was developed by Laboratoires Novexpert, founded in 1988 and was a culmination of two entrepreneurial families who had experience in the beauty and retail industry - the Sirop family (owner of the well-known Thalgo group) and the Telinge family (previously of fashion house, Cyrillus). Prior to launching its own brand, Laboratoires Novexpert formulates and manufactures for large cosmetic and pharmaceutical groups, and luxury and organic brands across the globe.

Already a winner of 11 awards since its launch in 2008, Novexpert launched a new, more advance and more effective "doctor-line" skincare in 2012. The team behind this line comprises of French doctors who are former scientific directors from different pharmaceutical and cosmetic groups, and experts in dermatology, biology and herbal medicine. Given complete control, their brief was to develop, based only on scientific research without marketing or financial constraints, the most effective anti-aging formulations that will also be suitable for sensitive skin as well as safe for long term use.

The result is 100% cosmeceutical formulations that deliver 100% cosmeceutical effects - an instantaneous healthy glow within 5 seconds, an immediate lifting effect within 5 minutes and a durable anti-wrinkle effect lasting 5 weeks. The formulations also set a new standard by being uniquely 0% chemical - 0% preservatives, 0% essential oils, 0% propylene glycol etc and being 100% natural, 100% biodegradable and 100% hypoallergenic.

100% Natural
All formulations from the Novexpert Doctor line are 100% Natural origin (such as plant extracts) and made from enzymes by biotechnology processes, which are edible and biodegradable. No chemical preservatives are used in Novexpert, making the brand so unique, non-toxic, 100% biodegradable and certified 100% hypoallergenic. This innovative brand which combines ultra effectiveness and high tolerance with safety, is compatible for all types of skin, including the most sensitive ones, and can be used by both men and women.

Discovery of Novaxyline
One of the key ingredients used in every Novexpert's product is its patented anti-aging ingredient Novaxyline. This is 100% natural consists of an algae extract that is combined with a sugar created by the process of bio-fermentation. Found in the offshore of Brittany, the algae is regularly left exposed during low tide and has therefore developed a protective system to fight against a variety of stress factors including salt, heat, UV light and dehydration. This "protection mechanism" proves to be an exceptional "cellular guardian" for the skin.

Most of us who grew up watching fairy tales would definitely remember how Snow White took a bite in that deadly, poisonous apple (of course, Prince Charming came to rescue and she came back to live again... but that's not what we are going to talk about).

If the apple had been labeled "poison" on it,  she wouldn't have taken that bite.

Well, if our cosmetic products had been labeled "poison" on it, we would have avoided and excluded it entirely. It's not too late to find out what's good and what's not, and to educate ourselves about the use of these chemicals in our cosmetic industry today.

Always, always, always check the ingredient lists before buying a product off the shelf. A little ignorance can be very detrimental to your health.

Read on and pass it on.

"Well, at first glance, your eyes are  brown . But when the light hits them they change to  amber . And if you look really closely around the iris the color is pure  honey . But when you look into the sun they almost look  green . That's my favorite".

~ Said Dr. Kevin Fields to Charlotte from the movie Monster-in-Law, 2005.

The best pick-up-line ever that we would definitely want to hear from our men. That's why we spend ;so much money and time on products to enhance our eyes: eyeliners, mascara, artificial lashes, eye shadows and most importantly, the concealers - to hide our dark circles.

Dark Circles are meant for pandas,
not for us, humans.

Why Do Dark Circles Appear?
The skin around the eyelids is the thinnest skin in our body and what is known as dark circles is actually blood vessels under our eyes. The bluish tint appears when blood passes through the large veins under our eyes and the severity is depended on the transparency of the skin.

Whilst some believe that dark circles are inherited, others believe that there are also factors that contribute, such as poor sleeping habits, smoking, water retention or bad diets.

How to Get Rid of Dark Circles?
Here are some suggestions to reduce dark circles:

01
Sleep 8 Hours A Day
The lack of sleep can cause our skin to look older, tired and paler, making the dark circles to be more apparent. Make sure you remove all eye make-up before you sleep as it could irritate your eyes and cause fluids to accumulate under your eyes. Some believe that changing your sleep position can help to reduce dark circles too.

02
Exercise
Move around to increase blood circulation. Use the No-Work Out, Work Out Tips to help you remember to be on the move at all times. Remember to spend at least 30 minutes stretching and practice deep breathing - helps with oxygenation and relaxation.

03
Avoid Smoking
Smoking not only threatens your life, it also causes blood vessel problems, causing darker circles. Smoking also saps the body of Vitamin C (a component in manufacturing collagen), causing skin to sag and age prematurely.

04
Don't Rub Too Hard
When you need to remove your eye-make up, use gentle movements as the skin around our eyes are sensitive. Doing it harshly might cause excessive pulling and stretching to the skin under your eyes. Be sure to use a proper eye-make-up remover or a cleansing gel together (with cotton) to dissolve all make up and grime.

05
Eat & Drink Healthy
Many home remedies would suggest using cucumber juice, tomato juice, potato juice and even teabags to put around the eye area to help reduce dark circles. We highly suggest you drink them instead, to boost your immune system, to give your skin the vitamin it needs, and to give your body a healthy, balanced diet.

06
Use An Anti-Dark Circle Eye Contour
Instead of placing a dozen of cold spoons on your eyes every day, we suggest a better, 24 hours, 7 days a week remedy that is 100% natural, unique and effective.

Novexpert Anti-Dark Circle Eye Contour helps to camouflage your dark circles and at the same time:
  • Stimulate blood micro circulation for less visible dark circles
  • Reduce the permeability of capillaries for less dark circles
  • Thickens the skin for concealed dark circles.

  • .....Giving you a long lasting effect.
