# 1
Before you indulge in that mouth-watering bag of keropok to snack, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER first. Most of the time what you are lackingis not food, but water.
# 2
At a restaurant, order 2 appetizers and cut back on the mains.
# 3
Keep a bowl of fruits next to you at work. It replaces the snack cravings and reminds you of eating healthy!
# 4
This may sound a little funny… but only IF you can, order a child sized portion at a restaurant. Tell them you are on a diet, perhaps? If that doesn’t work, another trick is to use smaller plates; it makes the portions look big – This would psych-up your mind that you had enough.
# 5
It’s almost like tip #4 but we’ve got to share

"In the cafeteria I use a 4-by-4-inch Styrofoam box, and I put whatever I want in there. It's almost impossible to overeat."

- Ellen Kunes,Health editor-in-chief
# 6
Brush your teeth after dinner, you’ll less likely not eat again before going to bed.
# 7
Get seven to eight hours of sleep every day. When you are sleep deprived, you tend to compensate with food due to hormonal imbalances. Rilax Zzz helps to give you quality sleep you need!
# 8
Cut down on sweets, gums and milk chocolates. Drop the sugar, drop the pounds!
# 9
Wear something tight! It gives you more motivation to say ‘no’ to those oily foods in front of you.
# 10
Drink TruDtox 2 times a week in a nice Thermo Mug. Helps you to lose all the unnecessary poop you’re carrying inside and at the same time, promote great health.

Q
Question
What does Pineapple Tarts, Bak Gua, Love Letters, Nian Gao, Fortune Cookies,
Tapioca Flour Cookies, Honeycomb all have in common?

A
Answer
They make you fat and.......decrease your bowel movement!

All the goodies mentioned above makes our appetite and waistline increase, making not-snacking almost an impossible task! "Aiya, it's only once a year" or "久久一次" are often Malaysian's excuses for overindulging. Guilty as charged! Simply consuming a few pieces of the goodies can throw off your diet for the entire year (maybe a few years).

Remember this, consuming all those goodies is effortless and trying to shed it off is going to take 888% effort. What's more? Your body may feel bloated and indigestion and bowel irregularity may just be the start of many other problems that are yet to come.

Here are some charts we have gathered from different websites so you can take a closer look at those calories you're consuming. Well, at least you know and will hopefully think twice then probably ignore when you see all those goodies laying in front of you.

Chart 1

Fortune cookies will increase your fortune....sideways!

Chart 2

If you eat all those mentioned in Jade's Guide in one day, you have had 2 burgers, 4 slices of pizza, 2 chicken wings, 2 medium whipped potato and 2 cartons of medium fries! *shudders*

Chart 3

Her World Plus says: 5 Pineapple tarts equals to 2 bowls of rice. Wait, what???

WHY DO YOU FEEL BLOATED
Did you know that it takes about 8 to 10 hours of food to reach your colon? One bowel movement a per day isn't enough to flush everything you consume and your three days worth of meals are still lingering in your colon. Especially during this festive season, your digestive system has to work even harder to digest all the goodies you ate. In human terms, it's called abusing your digestive system.

Long intestinal transit time causes putrefying food in our intestines and colon to ferment, thus producing a lot of intestinal gas - a common source of discomfort for many people.

Especially more during this festive season, it's HIGHLY recommended that you undergo a total body detoxification with TruDtox only 2 or 3 times a week so you can cleanse your body and relieve your digestive system from abuse. Detoxification can be very beneficial to your health and can prevent the accumulation of toxins in your body.

TruDtox is natural, safe and gentle that works 8 - 10 hours after consumption. What we love about it is that we can plan when to sit on the water closet. Best drank before you sleep so you can wake up early in the morning and relieve your bowels, making you feeling light, clean and refreshed!

TruDtox comes in 2 different formulas:
TruDtox ThermoG is with added green tea to help you detox and at the same time reduce unsightly stubborn bulges. Together with a balanced diet and exercise plan, ThermoG can help speed up your Chinese New Year weight gain.

Feeling SQUISHY all over?

Here are some simple weight management tips you can use to help you shed off some pounds. Just remember that YOU are the master of YOUR mind, so set a goal and reach for it!

1 2

Give up fad diets and crappy diet plans. Some diet plans can do more harm than good and none are manageable long term. Skipping meals are the worst of all as it messes up your metabolism. Choose to eat healthy, balanced meal and decide what should be on your plate and what not.

Make a choice “I won’t” instead of “I can’t” especially when tempted with fatty, creamy foods.

3 4

Sleep right! Many researchers say that the quality of our sleep can influence our appetite and the lack of sleep causes weight gain.

Do cardio-muscular exercise (more to lose weight faster). Eat less, exercise more. Work out multiple muscles at the same time. The more you sweat, the more you lose weight.

5 6

Invited for a birthday meal? Fill up your tummy with plenty of fruits and vegetables before you go for one. At the birthday party, just go for lean meat or something healthy to look like you’re eating!

Choose lean meat. Choose chicken and fish over red meat such as beef or pork.

7 8

Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water keeps your body hydrated and helps to boost your metabolism by up to 3 percent! Additionally, according to numerous studies, drinking water before meals helps you to consume fewer calories that ultimately lead to weight loss. And ofcourse, avoid sweetened & carbonated drinks at all times.

Stand up whenever you can! According to University of Chester expert, John Buckley, Standing up 3 hours a day in the office can help you to lose weight, burning 144 calories. Standing up burns 1.5 more calories than sitting down. Time to push off those office chairs!

9 10

Reduce sodium intake & minimize starches (white grain). Check the ingredients on those food labels to avoid added sugar, artificial sweeteners, high-fructose corn syrup or trans-fat.

Drink TruDtox ThermoG two to three times a week. TruDtox ThermoG is classified as food from the MOH Malaysia and it contains only European herbs. ThermoG increases your body heat to keep the fat burning and flushes away toxins and waste – helping you reduce tummy fat. It’s safe for regular use as it does not contain senna and does not promote dependency.

Abuse of Laxatives
Doctors tend to prescribe laxatives either to solve a medical symptom or to prepare for a medical exam such as a colonoscopy. It is not meant to solve the root cause of a medical problem.

Laxatives, while being able to provide quick relief, should be avoided because they are counter productive to establishing regularity, can be habit forming and they have undesirable side effects.

1. Laxatives Constipate & Promote Dependency
Over use of laxatives can damage the colon, cause constipation, and promote dependency especially when used long term. Laxatives can also cause imbalances in bodily fluids, lead to complications in other parts of the body, and interfere with the therapeutic action of other medications or intensify toxic effects. Laxatives can mask the signs and symptoms of other medical conditions that may require attention. This is why laxative use is generally not recommended.

2. Laxatives Weaken Colon Muscles
The purgative action of stimulant laxatives interferes and weakens normal colonic muscular actions which play a part in fluid absorption, particle cohesion, stool formation, stool transit, and stool passage (defecation). If these muscles become weak, stool transit is slowed.

3. Harmful Side Effects
In a short period of time, over use of laxatives can dry out the colon lining, weaken colon muscles, and damage colon nerves. The colon can become insensitive, instestinal motility can slow, normal processes fail, and, as a result, chronic constipation can develop.

Excessive use in the long run may cause abdominal pain, low energy, thirst, dry eyes, headaches, dehydration, weight loss and even damage to other organs. The side effects reported include confusion, irregular heartbeat, muscle cramps, skin rash, unusual tiredness or weakness, belching, cramping, diarrhea and nausea.

The Need for Regularity
Myths about constipation and the preoccupation with achieving daily bowel movement have led to a serious abuse of stimulant laxatives. Let's find out how regularity is defined.

Healthy regularity is the comfortable passage (without straining) of well formed stools (neither too hard, nor too soft) once every day or every two to three days without the use of laxatives, or other interventions. Bowel function is uniqe and varies from individual to individual.

3 Regularity Tips
Here are 3 effective ways you can achieve your own regularity safely and naturally!

1. Get Moving
Movements such as stretching or walking stimulate bowel activity and promote regularity as well as good health.

2. Respond when Nature Calls
Respond promptly when nature "calls". If you are no longer getting the urge, try toileting 45 minutes every meal. Gently massage your abdomen with your palm in a circular motion.

3. Daily Servings
A daily serving of TruDtox® botanical tea blend will help improve stool transit time and promote regularity by rejuvenating your natural detoxification organs.

Just one serving of TruDtox® per day can help you get going... NATURALLY!
The BETTER Alternative to Laxatives...

One of the buzzwords that you may frequently come across these days is the term "detox". Commonly spoken by the lips of health conscious people, it is a short form of the world detoxification and quite simply means removing toxic elements from the body. It has become an increasingly important thing to do nowadays, what more with the existence of more and more pollution in the environment as well as many processed foods containing substances that actually do much harm to the body.

In actual fact, your body already has the mechanism for performing detoxification activities within itself by means of the kidney and liver. However, considering the amount of toxins that enter an average individual's body, it would even greatly improve the performance of your immune system if you had a regular detox routine for yourself as well.

The best way to detox is by the use of natural elements. Here are some example of herbs that are known to have cleansing and detox organ strengthening purposes:

03
Rose Hips
This refers to the pods that grow at the base of a rose and they are left behind after the bloom has died. They are rich in vitamins C, A, D, E and K as well as flavinoids (anti-oxidants). From a medicinal viewpoint, it provides relief for headaches and dizziness, besides also preventing bladder infections.

04
Chamomile
A very well known and widely used herb, it has many uses and benefits. Among other things, it acts as a good sleep aid, as it helps you to relax. It can also be used a mild painkiller and improves the body's digestive processes.

It's pretty much a cliche to tell someone to watch their weight. But for Malaysians, this statement is pretty sound advice. Since our country is home to a multi-racial community, it is renowned for having a diverse set of culinary treats that are often hard to resist, especially during the festivities! It comes as no surprise then that most Malaysians these days struggle with issues of weight control. Nearly everyone would love to lose just a tad bit of weight so they look and feel better. As daunting as it seems, this is actually not an impossible feat if we take a realistic approach in order to achieve it.

Fat Hopes
First of all, you need to determine how much weight you should lose. Consult a physician to determine whether you are in fact overweight. If so, find out what your ideal weight should be and from there, calculate how much weight you really need to loose.

Half the Battle
Often times, it's the way you think that defeats you even before you've begun any efforts to lose weight. Plan how you will work to shed those pounds and think positively about what you are going to do. Being able to be master of your mind is already half the battle won.

The Cheerleading Squad
Get support if you need to. Enlist the help of friends or family to help keep you on track. If there is a support group available for you to join in your local community, consider becoming a member. It will definitely help if you are in touch with others who are also keen on losing weight. Together, you can motivate each other and celebrate when you meet your goals.

Get Your Game Face On
To help kick start your efforts, let's consider some possible methods that you can consider for losing weight:
  • Eager Beaver
Exercise is a surefire way of shedding pounds, Going to the gym, playing a sport or even taking regular jogs in the nearby neighborhood park can do wonders in helping you manage your weight. But that would only be the case if you keep it up consistently. Furthermore, you need to be wary that you don't burn calories off only to eat excessively after exercising and gain them back again. Check with a doctor before enlisting on any new fitness program to be doubly sure it is the right option for you.

  • Diet, or die trying
Another common option that many people go for is to impose a diet on themselves. Assuming that the idea is to maintain a well balanced diet that is proportionate to their biological needs, then it is definitely the way to go. However, the trouble comes when it's a question of crash dieting. This is where a person consciously avoids what they perceive to be fatty foods in an effort to keep the calories at bay. It can be very hazardous to health, especially since more often than not certain needful nutrrients inadvertently get omitted from the food intake. Consequently, it may lead to other form of health probloes. Taken to extremes, wrong dieting methods could induce eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia.

  • Stich and Sew
Besides this, the alternative choice to do surgery also exists. Basically, there are two types of procedures available: restrictive and malabsorptive. Restrictive procedures aim to decrease the amount of food consumption. In contrast, malabsorptive procedures limit the amount of food the body is able to absorb. Surgery as a weight loss is a good quick fix option, but it is also expensive and you may be susceptible to other medical complications. It should only be considered in cases where there are no better options available.

  • Swallowing Your Pride
A less dangerous option compared to surgery would be taking weight loss supplements. There are many different types that can be found on the pharmacy shelves: meal replacements, themogenic fat burners, stimulant-free fat burners, carb blockers, fat blockers, thyroid hormone increasers, appetite suppressants and many others.
